Outdoor can be best...even with the British weather!

As many of us eagerly await reaching the next step of the Government's Roadmap, it's easy to forget just what Fun can be had right now. Following guidelines and ensuring the correct measures are in place mean that you can still enjoy those event plans over the coming weeks.

And one key thing to remember is that outdoors is one of the best options to hold your event!

Usually during the 'Summer season', the majority of events that The Fun Experts are invited to, take place outdoors in the (sometimes) beautiful British weather.

And being outdoors is one of the key ingredients in mitigating the risk of transmission as we all well know.

So when you were thinking that you may have to put your event plans on hold because of the recent delays, you'd be forgiven for missing that both Steps 2 (in place since 12th April 2021) and Step 3 (in place since 17th May 2021) of the Roadmap and certain easing of restrictions meant that certain events can continue.

There are a few things you need to remember of course and ensure that guidelines are followed, such as having a relevant Risk Assessment in place. When it comes to the entertainment side of things, you can trust in The Fun Experts that we have the appropriate measures in place to ensure a Covid Secure and fun experience. Some of these include:

• Cleaning and sanitisation of equipment before, during and after your event

Inline with Step 3 of Government Guidance (in place since 17th May, 2021), Events that are able to commence include:

1. Where people are likely to congregate in one area for the duration of the event.
2. People are likely to enter or leave the venue in large numbers at a similar time

 Dependant on your venue type, there are some further guidelines to follow in line with capacity levels:

In line with guidance, the following capacity limits are in place:

1. 1,000 people or 50% of a venue's capacity, whichever is lower indoors.
2. 4,000 people or 50% of a site or venue's capacity, whichever is lower at outdoor events

One thing we've found being confused around attending events and 'numbers' is around groups of 30. So for example at an outdoor event, it isn't that only 30 people can attend - it is that within the groups that attend your event, multiple groups can attend but within those groups there should be no more than 30 people and capacity levels should allow for groups not to mix and remain socially distanced.
