Back to School: Is Your School On Target for Sports Funding?
The new PE National Curriculum for Schools across all Key Stages launched in England in September 2014.
The aims are to develop competence in children to excel in a broad range of physical activities, to engage in competitive sports and activities, and to encourage youths to lead healthy and active lives.
The good news is that GCSE PE results have risen and that PE has made a significant contribution to pupil’s well-being, development and enjoyment of school however; subject knowledge and confidence remains a key issue in primary level PE delivery and more able students are not being challenged enough.
If you’re looking for new ways to meet your school’s curriculum requirement, the Fun Experts can help.
Sunshine Events have the perfect solution- Archery for Schools!
Archery is a fun, educational and non-traditional sport that is perfect for young people of all abilities. Pupils can learn discipline, self-control, respect and achieve a strong sense of personal achievement.
In our experience, kids that don’t normally enjoy participating in sports-related activities seem to really love archery and do really well!
It is a great alternative to normal sports like netball or football and it’s ideal for those looking to try something new.
How to Deliver Archery in Schools
Archery is becoming more and more popular in schools across the UK. Usually, any staff or teachers wanting to deliver traditional archery sessions themselves have to be qualified as an Archery GB instructor, Leader or Level 1 coach.
This obviously comes at a cost and the time it takes to undertake the qualification but Sunshine Events can deliver the sessions for you and we offer a vast range of packages to suit your needs including:
- Taster session
- Archery days
- After school clubs
Get peace of mind that we can deliver the sessions indoor or outdoor depending on the premises (and weather!) and better still, we can include presentations in your assembly to show the entire school how much you are on target.
Our Archery GB trained instructors are just a phone call away if you have any questions and you can find out more information on the lesson plans and safety requirements here.
