The Feast of St George 2015
The Feast and FUN of St George
As the country united in celebrating the day of St George on April 23rd, the Mayor of London organised a national day of feasting inspired by St George's 13th century origins.
It would be a day of splendor and delight featuring a fantastic line-up including treats and family activities such as a variety of live music, hog roasts aplenty, family activities and so much more!
Sunshine Events were lucky enough to be invited along and supply some fun for all to take part in. With a selection of our Side Stalls to offer some fun challenges to the public, our team were ready to be a part of the celebration.
London's Trafalgar Square closed it's roads and opened up to the people of London (and further afield) and the day became a massive success as thousands of people descended to enjoy the festivities and the glorious weather. So glorious it was, that guests were even able to take a break in our slightly giant deckchair!
Fun Experts James, Larissa and Adam who attended the event had this to say about the Feast of St George;
"The whole day was a fantastic experience and meticulously planned. The entertainment, not only ourselves, available to the public was fantastic fun and it was an absolute delight to take part in the celebrations!"
With the buzz of the festivities taking place, everyone was in high spirits ... though we can only hope that for anyone taking part in the following day's London Marathon, too much hog roast wasn't consumed!
Now the celebrations are over for another year, you may take inspiration from London's fantastic event and look to organise your own St Georges Day celebrations with a little added Feast for the eyes!
